I was excited to get to try Organic Raw Cacao Nibs. I had never heard of them before but I read in a description that they were supposed to taste like chocolate so I thought I would give them a try. They come in a huge 16-ounce bag. The first thing I notice when I opened the bag was the wonderful chocolate smell that comes right out of the bag to greet my nose. It smelled wonderful. When I finally looked in the bag I could see all the bits and pieces of what looks like broken up nuts. I did try a piece in its natural state and it even tastes a bit like dark unsweeten chocolate. It has the bittersweet taste to it.
On the bag, it lets know they are high in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. They are also a rich supply of antioxidants. I can also use hem in several different ways. I can try eating them like they are or I can make smoothies, baked goods, or even use them in a savory dish. So with that being said let the experiments begin.
