I got real excited when I found this jerky kit. My families are all hunters and each year we get fresh deer meat. We have tried other methods of making jerky but they didn't turn out to well. This kit was perfect for us to try. It came with no only one flavor but three different flavors. I made the mesquite and peppered flavors. Once we started that we had to make a couple of other flavors of our own. I used a fresh deer shoulder my son had killed the day before. It was his first deer. And then I bought two London broils because I wasn't sure I was going to get any deer. I used my deer meat for the pepper and the beef for the mesquite. After letting it sit for over 8 hours, when I opened the bags, it smelled so yummy. I used tooth sticks to hang the meat from baking racks and placed them in a pan with a little water in the bottom.  The pepper has a bit of kit to it. It tasted great, though. This was a wonderful project for my family. I got my kids and my parents involved. We had a blast making our jerky.
