The light bulb kinds looks like a larger version of the old screw in fuses that were used in breaker boxes. It has a very pretty metallic silver finish around the bulb. One of the things I love about this bulb is it doesn't get hot. I left mine on all night and day and it wasn't hot to the touch. (thank goodness ) Now besides the bulb you also receive a remote. The remote is about the size of a pack of gum. (like stride gum). It fits nicely in the palm of the hand.
There are quite a few buttons on the remote. You can adjust the brightness of the bulb. You can turn it on and off. You can pick a certain color. You can make it flash, strobe, fade and smooth (not sure what that one is). The colors are beautiful and very vibrant. I really love to lay in my bed at night and watch the colors change. Its so relaxing.
