During the summer months, my family eats a lot of watermelons. I hate to buy them though because of the giant mess they make. Between the seeds, juice and my kids it always turns out to be a pain. Plus so much of it gets wasted because they cut out the pieces in chunks and not slices. I hoping that with my new Watermelon Cutter that will not be the case this year. 

It took me a few minutes to figure out just how to use it. I had it backwards as usual. The handle of te cutter feels like the end of a set of tongs. It's very smooth and fits nicely in the palm of my hand. The end has a nice curve so it can be used with any type of melon. I used mine on a cantaloupe. It took me a couple of times to get it to cut and I'm sure the more I use it the better my slices will be. It cuts right thru the melon with no problem. I used it to make deep cuts and then on the ends I turned it sideways and made smaller cuts so I didn't waste any of the fruit. Still working on picking up the fruit with the cutter, though. But I'll get there. 

When I started my dad was making fun of me. When I finished he wasn't laughing no more. He was eating my cantaloupe. It was really simple to clean up and there was no mess left over from the cantaloupe to worry with. It worked great.
