This was my first time using a flat iron. I used the crimper back in my high school days and this kind of reminded me of those days. At first, I had a blonde moment and didn't realize I had to turn it on besides just plugging it in. My son had to show me. ( It was a long day. That's all I have to say). So the first thing I learned besides how to turn it on was. It was very hot. I think I burned myself three times before I was done. It came with a glove to protect my hair but I didn't use it. I don't like gloves. After I plugged it in I noticed the little light on top of the flat iron. It starts off red and turns green to let me know it was ready. I have very thick and long hair so I separated my hair into little bunches.My hair would just slide right thru the flat iron. No snagging or pulling involved. It never hurt or became uncomfortable. I loved how my hair felt after I used the flat iron. It was so smooth and it made it feel lighter. It took all the puffiness out of my hair and it actually felt lighter. Maybe that was just me, but I liked it. I had to do my ends a couple of times because they were being stubborn and wanted to curl back up. It didn't seem to take all that long to do. I just turned on a movie and used it while I was watching. I really enjoyed using it and loved the effect it had on my hair.
